The Sixth Day. Doggie Giggles.

This is Lily.

Our delightful, silly, furry, cuddly, easy going golden retriever.

She is currently four years old, and her favorite spot to lay is on our couches. There was a time I thought it was a bad thing to allow a dog on the couch. In fact, our first golden, Rosie, never laid on the couch, nor did our second golden, Sadie Jane.

But after the unexpected and sudden death of our beloved Sadie Jane when she was 3 years old, lots changed. When Lily became part of our family three months after Sadie’s passing, she established her own set of rules. At first she was only allowed on the family room couch. But somehow she found her way to the living room couch as well, especially in the morning when my husband sits there to read and have coffee.

When Sadie died I took it very hard.

Lily helped ease that pain. She brought healing. She was incredibly ornery and spunky and I did think I wanted to give her away a couple times, but she was just what I needed.

From the moment I saw her, she made me giggle.

You can see why in the photos below.
